When it comes to the game of professional tennis, there is no doubt that the Williams Sisters are two of the best to ever play the game. Venus and Serena Williams are great in singles and are also one of the best doubles teams. Both Venus and Serena are coached by their father, Richard Williams, and both of them have been ranked number one in the world at one time.
Venus Williams is the older of the two sisters and is currently ranked at number five. Over her career, Venus has won seven Grand Slam Singles finals. She won her first title when she defeated Lindsay Davenport in 2000 at Wimbledon. She has had great success at Wimbledon, winning it a total of five times in singles in 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007 and 2008. She has won the US Open twice, in 2000 and 2001.
Serena Williams has been ranked number one multiple times. It wasn't until recently, on April 20th, 2009, that she lost the spot to Dinara Safina. She has won the French Open once, Wimbledon twice, and the Australian Open four times.
